Adjustment Layer

You can make a variety of adjustments on an image by clicking the Image menu and selecting Adjustment. Using adjustment layer, you can apply color and tonal changes to your image without changing any pixel value.

You can access the adjustment layers by clicking the Layer menu, selecting New Adjustment Layer, and then selecting the type of adjustment layer you want to apply. Photoshop includes a number of different types of adjustment layers.

Follow the instructions step by step:

  1. Open the following image in Photoshop.

 

2. Create a duplicate of your Background layer and name it.

3. Click Layer.

4. Click New Adjustment Layer.

5. Click Color Balance.

6. In the New Layer dialog, type a name for the adjustment layer.

7. Click OK.

The color Balance dialog appears.

8. Click and drag the color sliders to get the color of sky you want.

The whole image becomes the color of your selection.

9. Click OK.

10. Click the default Colors icon to set the default colors in the toolbar.

11. Click the Reverse Colors icon to change your foreground color to black.

12. Press (ALT+BACKSPACE) to fill the adjustment layer’s mask with black.

13. Press the Reverse colors icon to change the foreground color to white.

14. Click the Brush tool to select it.

15. Click the Brush Preset down arrow in the Options bar and select a large soft brush from its menu.

16. Paint the area carefully.
